Stewardship
Discipleship is the beginning of our understanding of stewardship. When we become active disciples for Christ, we can put into practice a living, breathing stewardship. Indeed, stewardship is all we say and do after we declare, “I believe.”
Our motivation for our words and actions is gratitude. Who and what are you grateful for today? How might you celebrate your blessings? You see, stewardship is an outflow of your gratitude.
Please focus on who and what you have today. How might you bless others with your words and actions? Is it a phone call, a visit, or a gift? Start there!
The next step is realizing that you give from what you already have. Your words, time, talents, actions, and generosity come from the gifts God has already given you. The request is “giving of yourself.”
You have many assets for ministry. Again, stewardship is about discipleship. It must start with a mindset of abundance. Sit down and begin to note everything you are good at doing.
In the coming weeks, you will be offered workshops, retreats, and small group ministries. Please consider joining in. This is your personal invitation to become more involved in your church community.
Let us learn more about what it is to be a disciple of Christ. May we also discover our spiritual gifts and how to use them in ministry.
Stewardship begins with you!
I am looking forward to seeing you enrich your ministry at home, in the community, and at Grace.
Blessings,
Stephen
